A singular sound in the vocal world, Kathy Kosins exemplifies the intersection of jazz and soul. Her latest single, “Auroras Light”, earned her the title of Most Played Vocalist on SiriusXM Watercolors and a feature in Blues And Soul magazine (UK). With a career spanning six acclaimed studio albums, Kosins continues to deliver flawless phrasing, passion-filled storytelling, and genre-crossing collaborations with icons such as Frank McComb, Bob Baldwin, and Paul Randolph.
Her reimagined single “From A 2 B” won Jazz Vocal Single of the Year from the Independent Broadcasters Alliance, and her Baldwin collaboration “Let’s Rewind” soared to the top of multiple Smooth Jazz and Indie Soul charts.
A past Michigan Council for the Arts Jazz Composer of the Year, Kosins has performed to sold-out audiences across the USA, Europe, and Asia, sharing the stage with Gregory Porter, Earl Klugh, Terence Blanchard, and The Rippingtons, among many others.
Her album Uncovered Soul—produced by Gregory Porter’s longtime collaborator Kamau Kenyatta—sat at #1 on the Official Indie Soul Chart and was hailed internationally as a “consummate work of art.”
